Kitty Pryde and Wolverine (1984–1985) is a six-issue limited series published by Marvel Comics.

The story follows Kitty Pryde, the youngest member of the X-Men, who travels to Japan after her father becomes entangled with a powerful Yakuza lord named Shingen Harada. There, she’s captured and brainwashed by the ninja clan The Hand, transformed into an assassin under their control. Wolverine tracks her down to rescue her, confronting both Shingen and the Hand in a violent, emotional struggle. Through Wolverine’s guidance, Kitty overcomes her conditioning, rediscovers her identity, and emerges more mature and confident—adopting the new codename Shadowcat.

The miniseries deepens the bond between Kitty and Wolverine as mentor and student while exploring themes of honor, identity, and personal growth against a backdrop of samurai and ninja culture.
